Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate directly with the North Carolina Department of Transportation and engineering firms on multiple concurrent transportation initiatives.
  • Facilitate business development activities, lead proposal preparations, and serve as the primary presenter in efforts to secure new project opportunities.
  • Expertly develop detailed scopes of work, along with time and workforce estimates.
  • Foster and maintain existing client relationships, acting as the main point of contact.
  • Capably conduct contract negotiations and manage challenging situations.
  • Exhibit leadership skills while addressing complex technical challenges and resource distribution.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of standard land surveying practices in North Carolina, with the ability to undertake complex or innovative assignments requiring the development and implementation of new or enhanced techniques.
  • Lead and supervise project teams on assignments of varying sizes and complexities, ensuring comprehensive project follow-through, including client interactions, team communications, project scheduling, budget monitoring, and accounts receivable collections.
  • Recognized as an industry authority, providing technical, design, and project management services to support the Geomatics business unit.
  • Engage actively in professional organizations, professional development, and staff mentoring, while maintaining a network of industry relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a North Carolina Survey License (RPLS) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in transportation project management within Texas.
  • NCDOT precertification in survey-related work categories is required.
  • Strong understanding of the Geomatics field, coupled with leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
  • Experience in mobile scanning collection and processing is preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of the consulting business, including financial management, invoicing, project oversight, and personnel management.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation/Geopak/Open Roads is essential.
  • Active involvement in high-profile activities, seeking opportunities to represent the profession on matters of public or professional significance.
  • A valid TX driver's license, an acceptable motor vehicle record, a cleared background check, and a negative drug test result are required.
