Position Specific Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Associate Nuclear Mechanical Test Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for performing Failure Mode Engineering Analyses and deriving the critical characteristics to write test plans for mechanical components such as valves, pumps, bearings, and pressure gauges. You will work closely with the Mechanical, Quality Control, and/or Seismic teams to ensure the proper performance of component testing.

  • Support the mechanical engineering team in conducting mechanical tests, including component level and material testing.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of test plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, recommend effective solutions, and document findings.
  • Participate in test result analysis and provide recommendations for process improvements or modifications.
  • Work closely with a diverse team of engineers to understand current systems and suggest improvements.
  • Document test procedures, specifications, and analysis reports in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in mechanical testing methodologies and equipment.
Job Overview

Individuals participate in the engineering analysis and evaluation process and test solutions to solve problems.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs fundamental engineering activities that require the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
  • Participates in the analysis and evaluation of engineering problems
  • Prepares design change and technical evaluation research for review
  • Develops test activity to evaluate recommended solutions and analyzes data for result inconsistencies
  • Coordinates Engineering activities with other Engineering departments and with other company departments
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
