New York, New York, United States Uber Full time
About The Role

As a Product Manager on Uber's Grocery and Retail team, you will be responsible for driving the consumer adoption and growth for our fast-moving Grocery and Retail business, helping customers "Get Anything" they want from local merchants.

Uber to date has successfully helped customers get restaurant food delivered to their doors and we are very excited to bring that delight and convenience to virtually everything else.

Today, we're focused on the grocery, convenience, alcohol and pharmacy verticals, but this team has broader ambitions to expand into plenty of other retail areas in the future.

In this role, you will be working with a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders across operations, data science, design, engineering, marketing and more by developing and implementing innovative approaches to acquire and retain customers, increase order frequency, and optimize user experience and engagement.

What The Candidate Will Do

  • Refine the product definition, strategy and long term vision for delivering a best-in-class Get Anything" platform.
  • Execute on the roadmap, partnering with key stakeholders across the company to ensure we're delivering impactful and high quality consumer experiences that drive business results.
  • Design and build scalable solutions that can serve all consumer intents and use cases across different verticals (e.g. grocery, retail, pharmacy, etc.)
  • Drive the cross-functional team (engineering, analytics, Ops, etc.) to deliver on qualitative objectives and quantitative goals for the business.
  • Leverage data and experimentation to drive growth and optimize product performance.
  • Communicate the product plans, benefits and results to key stakeholders including the Regional Operations and leadership teams.
Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience delivering successful and innovative consumer facing products with your fingerprints all over them. You should be familiar with systems thinking, analytics and experiment design, and have a solid understanding of software development processes and concepts.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You will be doing a lot of internal and external advocacy and collaboration that will require a keen eye for narrative and storytelling about your product area.
  • Research and data-driven mindset. Experience in defining objectives and key results (OKRs) and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve them. You find a way to get the data you need and whip it into an insightful story with no help. You know how to leverage this data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysis.
  • Customer obsession. You have a knack for taking on complex product challenges and finding elegant solutions that make our users and partners jobs delightfully simple.
  • A Driver" mindset. You are biased toward action, a great collaborator, a master disambiguator/simplifier, and constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and tackle something hands-on.
  • A high bar across the board - from your own contributions to the people you work with, to the products you work on, you have a never-ending desire to grow and learn.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Entrepreneurial experience building and leading businesses, including ownership and optimization of business performance metrics.
  • Growth experience with a track record of delivering highly successful and innovative 0-to-1 products.
  • A Computer Science, Statistics, or Engineering undergraduate degree or equivalent, preferably including hands-on design or software development experience.
  • A true passion for Uber's mission, our products, and the company's hybrid technology/operations nature.
