The Controller monitors department procedures and recommends improvements, consults with the senior management team, participates in establishing and implementing major goals and objectives, and serves as a resource in all aspects of finance and accounting. Position Location:

In office required at 8500 Freeport Pkwy, Irving, TX 75063 with hybrid flexibility.

What Will You Be Doing:

The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.

  • Financial Close and Accounting (70%): The Controller will manage all aspects of accounting and month-end close including:
    - Maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and operations
    - Overseeing all vendor payments and timely processing of pending accounts payable
    - Ensure completeness and accuracy of customer invoices booked to revenue and compare to budget expectations
    - Review outstanding accounts receivable balances monthly for past due accounts
    - Monitor and review monthly bank reconciliations and ensure current cash and funding balances are adequate to meet operational needs
    - Review all required manual journal entries included in month-end close for accuracy and post timely to general ledger
  • Audit Coordination and Compliance (10%): The Controller will provide necessary assistance to external auditors and state agencies to ensure WebTPA meets all statutory and legal requirements including:
    - Coordinate all requests from external financial statement auditors and manage audit process so that audited financials are issued to meet any required deadlines
    - Work with WebTPA compliance team and care management teams to ensure all required state filings are submitted accurately and timely
  • Internal Reporting (10%): The Controller will review and distribute required internally developed reports including:
    - Completion of monthly reports and reconciliations required for monthly slide deck distributed to Executive Leadership team
    - Management of Communitas quarterly financial meetings and production of relevant materials
    - Development and distribution of monthly cost-center reporting
    - Completion of ad hoc reporting and schedules as required
  • Accounting Leadership (10%): The controller will participate in required company meetings as an advocate for strong financial management and controls. Meetings will include:
    - Meetings with Executive Leadership team as needed
    - Company-wide Manager of People meetings
    - Department-specific training for staff accountants and accounts payable team

What You Must Have:

  • 6+ years of combined related work experience including:
  • 2-3 years of hands-on accounting experience including demonstrate management of month-end close procedures
  • 3-4 years of experience in public accounting performing, managing, and/or coordinating financial statement audits

Required Management Experience:

  • 3+ years direct supervisory/management experience

Required Education:

  • Related Bachelor's degree required Accounting, Finance, or other relevant major
