Senior Manager of Compliance Testing

The Assessment & Monitoring team within the Central Controls Capabilities Unit at Citibank is dedicated to the independent evaluation and oversight of call monitoring controls for both secured (mortgages & home equity) and unsecured (credit cards & personal loans) financial products. This role focuses on ensuring adherence to essential regulatory compliance standards within Citibank's diverse business sectors.

As a Senior Manager of Compliance Testing, you will oversee the execution of call monitoring controls testing, ensuring that all processes align with regulatory requirements. This position is integral to the Centralized Controls team, reporting directly to the Assessment & Monitoring Team Leader.

Your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of call monitoring controls, including the design and implementation of testing methodologies, performance assurance, and the assessment of control designs. You will be instrumental in driving quality and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the Controls Testing Utility by evaluating control designs, developing testing tools, and formulating testing procedures.
  • Lead the Control Design Assessment (CDA) process for call monitoring controls, executing checklists and documenting findings in the Risk & Control framework.
  • Manage significant aspects of control testing design, including the creation of tool descriptions and testing procedures.
  • Draft control testing protocols in collaboration platforms and secure necessary approvals from relevant business units.
  • Conduct training sessions for the Central Testing team on developed control testing tools and established procedures.
  • Resolve disputes related to control testing outliers and escalate concerns through appropriate channels.
  • Prepare materials for Operational Risk Forums and senior management meetings, investigating anomalies and escalating high-risk situations.
  • Implement quality assurance routines to ensure compliance with policies and testing standards.
  • Support team members in various aspects of control testing and performance management.
  • Drive continuous improvements in the accuracy and efficiency of control assessments and testing processes.
  • Foster relationships with stakeholders to ensure the success of control testing initiatives.
  • Exercise sound judgment in business decisions, prioritizing the firm's reputation and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Assist with other departmental initiatives as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in Risk & Controls roles.
  • Expertise in control design, execution, and testing methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Managers Control Assessment (MCA) frameworks.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships and influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Independent thinker capable of providing constructive challenges to business functions.
  • Experience working in virtual teams across different regions is preferred.

Travel Requirement:

  • Minimal travel expected.
