The Automation Control Testing Strategy Manager is a pivotal senior management role responsible for guiding a team of Automation Design Analysts dedicated to expediting the shift from traditional, sample-based control testing to comprehensive automated testing across various sectors including Services, Markets, and Banking. This team plays a crucial role in delivering innovative solutions in the technical design of control testing automation.

This position reports to the head of Central Automation Solutions and encompasses both strategic oversight and execution-focused management, aimed at enhancing control testing automation solutions. This is achieved through rigorous data analysis, standardized design and development methodologies, and fostering strong partnerships with Technology and the Control Testing Utility. The Automation Control Testing Strategy Manager is well-versed in data-driven control methodologies and automation techniques, with a solid understanding of both current and emerging technologies in data management and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical expert in the tools and technologies utilized for deploying automated control testing solutions, including SAS, SQL, Python, and low-code automation platforms.
  • Manage the control testing automation workflow, ensuring timely escalation of challenges and continuous forecasting of project efforts.
  • Regularly update Senior Leadership on the progress of control testing automation initiatives.
  • Engage and negotiate with senior stakeholders and communicate effectively with external partners.
  • Lead a team of Automation Design Analysts responsible for:
    • Translating business needs into actionable technical specifications for the automation development team.
    • Identifying necessary data sources and elements for implementing automated control testing solutions.
    • Developing scripts in SAS, SQL, and Python to analyze data sources and validate logic.
    • Creating comprehensive documentation packages to facilitate accelerated code development.
    • Defining the scope and objectives for complex automated control testing solutions through detailed analysis of business processes and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in financial services, with at least 5 years in leadership roles focused on data analytics and automation.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems and data across Services, Markets, or Banking sectors.
  • Familiarity with software development practices, automation tools, and programming languages.
  • Demonstrated success in leading analytical teams with a focus on discipline and process improvement.
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Proven analytical skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to think independently and challenge business functions credibly.
  • Awareness of organizational dynamics and the ability to navigate both formal and informal channels.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
