Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Merage School Director of Human Resources, the HR Analyst serves as the main personnel/payroll processor for all student employment, assisting new employees in the completion of employment forms, collecting and processing timesheets, and assisting department personnel with daily tasks as well as quarterly/annual projects. Additional responsibilities include providing general office support, such as maintaining personnel files and special assignments, as needed. Incumbent will research UC policies and procedures and provide guidance on all personnel processes. Position is responsible for responding to a variety of administrative issues and requests for information on behalf of the Dean, Associate Deans, Assistant Deans, Department Directors/Managers and HR Director and Assistant Director.

Required:
Minimum 1-2 years' experience working with personnel teams.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; demonstrates organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
Has working knowledge of other areas of HR.
Basic knowledge of human resources policies and programs, and how they affect other organizational policies and procedures.
Knowledge of a human resources management system (HRMS), and / or other related business software programs and systems.
Proficient in communicating clearly and effectively verbally and in writing and in integrating information in the completion of assignments.
Typing and proofreading skills in order to prepare handbooks, websites, letters, memos, reports, forms, infographics, etc.
Ability to work independently, use initiative, and follow through on assignments in a timely manner when there are pressures of deadlines and competing requirements.
Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with co-workers.
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality concerning personnel/payroll matters.
Strong attention to detail to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks.

Preferred:
Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and knowledge of functional area. Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively.
