JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
The patient monitoring technician provides TeleSitter monitoring support by recognizing, interpreting, and responding to observation and surveillance of assigned TeleSitter patients for medical and nursing staff. When continuously observing TeleSitter patients, the patient safety monitor technician will play a vital role in nurse notification and patient redirection to ensure the safety of the patients. The patient safety monitor technician is a vital part of patient care by ensuring all patients receive high quality, safe care. The technician will work collaboratively with the nursing personnel at all the hospital sites in a timely manner.

Position will be based out of Clarksville, TN


ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures patient safety by visualization of TeleSitter patients.
  • Participates in on-coming report. Reviews pertinent information and behaviors with on-coming staff.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork for TeleSitter patients.
  • Continuous observation, surveillance, verbal redirection and notification of nursing staff for patient needs of TeleSitter patients.
  • Demonstrates competency in the day-to-day use of Universal Precautions.
  • Utilizes effective interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, co-workers, medical staff and visitors.
  • Demonstrates behavior standards established in Community Cares
  • Works as part of a team
    a. Performs duties as assigned willingly and with initiative
    b. Treats other with consideration, courtesy and respect
    c. Remains calm; works effectively in stressful situations

  • Demonstrates ethical behavior by adhering to the policies and procedures relating to corporate compliance at Tennova Clarksville site.
  • Attends 75% staff meetings, providing input and evaluation into unit operations and performances Improvement.
  • Cognizant of environmental factors, infection control issues and maintains a safe environment.
  • Must promote good public relations
  • Applies and implements the philosophy, goals and objectives of Community Health Systems.
  • Participates in training of new personnel in performing Procedures to assure technical competence.
  • Keeps current in Central Monitoring through continuing education and literature.
  • Consistently seeks and accepts constructive guidance/criticism as a tool for skill building development.
  • Demonstrates organizational support competencies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience

● High school diploma or GED
● BLS certification – Must be obtained within 90 days of employment
