MRI Safety Technician - 1st Shift (Contingent)

The MRI Safety Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety of patients and staff during MRI examinations by conducting thorough screenings for contraindications and overseeing the maintenance of MRI equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain security protocols around MRI entrances.
  • Ensure that individuals do not enter Zone 3 without appropriate screening for ferrous materials, utilizing metal detection devices as necessary.
  • Actively engage in safeguarding the MR safety of all patients and staff members.
  • Adhere to Radiation, MR, and general safety regulations.
  • Comply with radiology, state, federal, and other regulatory standards and policies.
  • Exemplify the department's commitment to customer service for both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Enrollment in a healthcare-related program is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Current CPR Certification is preferred.

Skills:

  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism and the ability to establish rapport with patients and colleagues.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • OCCASIONALLY: Engage in bending/twisting, handling biohazard waste, and utilizing computer skills.
  • FREQUENTLY: Encounter blood and bodily fluids, communicable diseases, and engage in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • CONTINUOUSLY: Maintain audible speech, color vision, depth perception, and hearing acuity.
