Fire Safety Systems Technician

Position Overview:
As a Fire Safety Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, programming, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems. This includes systems such as Simplex, Fike, Kidde, Inergen, Sapphire, FM-200, and CO2, among other related building system products at various client locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute projects efficiently, ensuring completion within the designated installation timeframe.
- Collaborate with project management to address any discrepancies and coordination challenges that may hinder installation efforts.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while accurately interpreting complex blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and operational manuals.
Coordination and Communication:
- Work closely with other trades to streamline installation processes and optimize time management.
- Attend necessary site meetings and provide training to clients on the operational functionality of the systems installed.
- Conduct simulations and respond to inquiries, ensuring excellent customer service through consistent communication with district staff and clients.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Complete all project documentation promptly and adhere to OSHA and company safety policies.
- Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and operational manuals, with experience using hand tools and testing equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses as mandated by national, state, and local regulations.
- Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting equipment and tools weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
- Willingness to work in challenging positions, such as climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
Additional Skills:
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, to meet client needs.
- Strong customer service orientation, leadership capabilities, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety guidelines and procedures, along with strong organizational skills and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NICET Level II certification and local state licenses.
- Familiarity with local Fire Codes.
