Purpose of Position

Maintain awareness of aviation safety best practices and trends and make recommendations to enhance FlightSafety training programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor industry trends using public and private data sources to identify areas of opportunity in FlightSafety training programs.
  • Research and correlate safety investigation information related to aviation and other industry accidents.
  • Develop and foster partnerships with key business leaders to provide recommendations to drive business results as it relates to training.
  • Make courseware enhancement recommendations.
  • Make training delivery enhancement recommendations.
  • Manage the development of aviation safety-related communication (internal and external).
  • Represent FlightSafety within various aviation safety organizations and committees.
  • Act as a focal point for regulator and investigator inquiries related to aviation accidents and/or incidents.
  • Special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate or higher.
  • Flight instructor ratings and experience preferred.
  • Formal safety training preferred.
Experience
  • Five (5) years' experience in the aviation sector as a safety professional, flight instructor or management position in a commercial operator or flight school.
  • Previous safety program experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate.
  • Flight Instructor certificate preferred.
  • Independent thinker with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to compile and distil complex data sets into simple language summaries.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with partner organizations.
  • Strong computer and presentation skills.
