About Ample:

Are you prepared to drive a worldwide transformation? Ample, Inc. is an innovative electric vehicle battery swapping enterprise leading the charge in sustainable transportation solutions. Our goal is to expedite the global shift towards clean and efficient mobility by redefining how electric vehicles are powered. At Ample, we employ state-of-the-art robotics to facilitate swift and cost-effective modular battery swapping, making the process of energizing your electric vehicle as seamless as refueling at a gas station. Our dedicated team of engineers, designers, and environmental advocates is committed to tackling one of the most urgent challenges of our time. Become a part of Ample and contribute to our mission of making this technology accessible to billions of vehicles globally.

About the Position:

As a member of Ample, you will be part of a visionary team focused on creating a significant impact on the world. Our dedication to sustainability and advanced technology presents a unique opportunity to influence the future of transportation. We prioritize diversity, innovation, and teamwork, providing a nurturing work environment where your ideas can flourish.

In the role of Global Supply Chain Operations Leader, you will assist our development, engineering, and production teams in sourcing mechanical components and assemblies. With a focus on mechanical systems, you will oversee the procurement, planning, and delivery tracking of materials essential for our battery, vehicle, and swapping systems. This position not only requires you to facilitate end-to-end procurement transactions but also to champion continuous enhancements in purchasing processes and systems to achieve our ambitious goal of electrifying vehicles on a global scale. The role necessitates collaboration and execution across Ample and the broader global supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Concentrate on sourcing mechanical components, systems, and hardware.
  • Manage rapid R&D builds by procuring critical components and ensuring timely delivery to meet project timelines.
  • Process purchase requisitions to create Purchase Orders as required and oversee the management of purchase orders through invoicing and delivery.
  • Maintain precise records of open Purchase Order lines, including inbound quantities and vendor due dates.
  • Utilize analytics and supply chain expertise to manage vendor relationships and delivery schedules.
  • Establish and nurture operational partnerships with designated suppliers.
  • Serve as the primary contact for suppliers regarding delivery status, issues, and resolutions.
  • Escalate matters to commercial or technical partners as necessary (sourcing team, accounts payable, quality, engineering, etc.).
  • Oversee project BOMs and engineering modifications to minimize obsolete inventory and ensure a continuous supply.
  • Collaborate with suppliers in procuring off-the-shelf and manufactured parts, ensuring proper authorization of expenditures.
  • Assist in the onboarding and training of new suppliers to guarantee operational excellence and adherence to Ample's processes and policies.
  • Navigate a dynamic environment with evolving build plans.
  • Monitor costs across Ample's major systems and subsystems to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in direct material sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, or material planning within a manufacturing, Engineering/R&D, or New Product Introduction (NPI) context.
  • Proven expertise in supplier operational and relationship management.
  • Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems and MS Excel, with the ability to maintain and enhance reports to provide clear-to-build status, material coverage, run-out reports, and other analyses at the product or sub-assembly level.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of managing the complete purchasing cycle, including requisition generation, Purchase Order (PO) creation, PO follow-up, goods reception, and final payment.
