Cedar Hills Hospital, situated just 15 minutes from downtown Portland, is actively seeking experienced PRN/Weekend Call Coverage Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners to expand our dedicated team.
Our facility, a 94-bed freestanding psychiatric hospital and outpatient center, specializes in top-notch mental health and substance use disorder treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with psychiatric physicians at Cedar Hills Hospital to provide psychiatric medical care.
- Conduct Psychiatric Admitting Evaluations for new patients.
- Make appropriate treatment recommendations and orders following initial evaluations.
- Monitor patients' psychiatric and medical status, providing necessary interventions.
- Communicate with families regarding significant psychiatric and medical issues.
- Address emergency needs or crises, providing timely care.
- Maintain thorough documentation in patients' medical records, including progress notes and treatment orders.
- Participate in utilization reviews with insurance companies.
- Provide discharge recommendations and prescriptions for psychiatric medications.
- Countersign all telephone orders in patient records.
Requirements:
- PhD or Master s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner/APRN in Oregon, or willingness to obtain.
- Board Certification through ANCC as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric and Mental Health.
- Current National DEA certificate.
Compensation:
- Independent contractor model.
- Parttime employment option available upon request.
