Role Summary
This role is situated within the Urgent Walk-in Clinic at Cascadia Health. The schedule includes shifts on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, with flexible hours available. The Licensed Medical Provider (LMP) will collaborate with clinical staff to assess and manage individuals presenting with urgent mental health challenges, often accompanied by psychiatric and medical comorbidities.
The LMP will conduct psychiatric evaluations, assist in formulating diagnostic assessments, and provide ongoing medication management. A strong emphasis is placed on supporting a Trauma-Informed Care environment, recognizing the significant impact of trauma on health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate medical necessity for mental health services.
- Document and supervise comprehensive mental health assessments.
- Conduct psychiatric assessments and screenings for enrolled consumers.
- Manage medication consultations and prescriptions, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
- Engage in case consultations with treatment teams and external providers.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records in compliance with regulations.
- Provide urgent backup services when primary providers are unavailable.
- Support crisis intervention protocols as needed.
Qualifications
- Active State nursing license as a PMHNP or DNP, or an active state medical license as a Psychiatrist or DO.
- Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- 2-5 years of experience in a community mental health setting is preferred.
- Proficient in electronic medical records documentation.
Working Environment
- Ability to navigate clinic environments and assist clients as needed.
- Occasional physical activities including lifting and reaching.
- Regular engagement in sitting, standing, and keyboarding tasks.
