Portland Rescue Mission is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Men's Community Life Specialist. This position plays a vital part in our mission to demonstrate the compassion of Christ by providing a safe and supportive environment for men impacted by homelessness and addiction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide evening and weekend coverage for program participants, ensuring a consistent and engaging experience.
- Maintain a Christ-centered ministry environment, promoting growth and discipleship among participants.
- Support participants in developing life skills, recovery progress, and relationships with local churches through volunteer-based activities and events.
- Ensure program and facility operations meet PRM standards, including UA's, Med Call, facility lock-up, and evening meal duties.
- Communicate effectively with daytime program staff, providing updates on participant behaviors and significant events.
Requirements:
- A passionate relationship with Jesus Christ and a testimony of continued growth in faith.
- A calling to serve men impacted by homelessness and addiction.
- Good understanding and experience in relational development, facility operations, and community building.
- Agreement with Portland Rescue Mission's Statement of Faith and Code of Ethics.
- A personal ethos and work ethic that reflects Portland Rescue Mission's ministry culture – Highly Relational, Christ-Centered, Joyful Servant.
