A Brief Overview
Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager of Security Services, ensures the safety and security of the Medical Center during assigned shifts. This person supervises members of the security staff, conducts security inspections, and responds to code designated incidents and other emergencies. Investigates crimes and security incidents and emergencies and submits related reports and recommendations. Responsibilities will include the direct oversight of the Security Operations Center and Security Dispatchers, ensuring that all Department and Organization requirements for documentation, notification, and response to service requests are being properly met.

What you will do
  • Counsels, recommends, and issues disciplinary action as needed to officer and dispatcher direct reports.
  • Manage Dispatch staff and functions of the Security Operations Center and assist Senior Officers with any issues requiring Supervisory level support.
  • Ensuring proper documentation, notification, and dispatching of support on all service requests or emergencies for Stanford Health Care, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, University Health Care Alliance and ValleyCare Security Services.
  • Conducts security inspections and audits in order to ensure that Stanford Health Care policies are followed by Security Officers, medical staff and other SHC personnel.
  • Creation and updating of standard operating procedures, workflows, and forms (digital & physical).
  • Review and storage/archiving of forms and logs associated with SOC functions.
  • Investigates crimes, accidents, code designated incidents and other incidents involving security personnel and submits reports and recommendations. Coordinates actions at scene of accidents, code designated incidents or other incidents until the arrival of higher authority. Provide oversight or assistance for general Security Services Operations.
  • Maintains a database of incidents in the computer for ready access and reporting.
  • Responds to calls for assistance with unruly individuals and scene of chemical spills and takes necessary and appropriate action. Responds to all emergency or disaster situations at SUMC.
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent w/2+ years years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
Experience Qualifications
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience. One (1) year of supervisory experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to develop programs and lead process improvement projects
  • Ability to research and interpret relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards
  • Ability to strategize, plan and implement change
  • Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate work results
  • Ability to work effectively both as a team player and leader
  • Knowledge of parking services policies, procedures, and operational facilities
  • Knowledge of police/law enforcement procedures and techniques
  • Knowledge of Security Operations Center and Dispatcher functions/responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Licenses and Certifications
  • CADL - California Drivers License - Valid And In State
  • PPSO - California Proprietary Private Security Officer License or
  • SGRC - Security Guard Registration Card

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $ $47.23 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
