We are looking for an Equipment Technician II to join our PM team in Wyandotte.

As an Equipment Technician II for our Wyandotte Cellasto Plant, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the mechanical equipment encompassing the plant moldlines, conveyors, and post manufacturing departments.

You will build a meaningful career while supporting BASF Performance Materials business unit, that is active in four major industry sectors – transportation, consumer goods, industrial applications, and construction. The division has a strong portfolio of products and services combined with a deep understanding of application-oriented system solutions.

During your straight day shift as a Equipment Technician II, you will
  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment. (agitators, blowers, conveyance systems, gearboxes, pumps, etc.)
  • Improve equipment reliability by maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical equipment within our process. All findings to be reported to maintenance supervisor.
  • Use power tools and shop equipment such as a drill or impact driver, reciprocating saw, band saw, belt sander, pipe cutter/threader, etc.
  • Fabricate with various materials and weld process piping when needed.
  • Support all EHS policies and procedures while promoting a safe work environment for yourself and your coworkers.
  • Maintain a good attendance history.

  • Have a High school diploma or GED. An Associate's degree in mechanical field or completion of an accredited apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Possess a minimum of 1-2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (injection molding experience is a plus).
  • Have 1-2 years of experience performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment such as agitators, blowers, conveyance systems, gearboxes, pumps etc).
  • Are experienced with MS office and SAP plant maintenance systems or are willing to learn.
