We are looking for a Instrument Technician I to join our PM team in Wyandotte, MI.

As an Instrument/Control Technician I for our Wyandotte Cellasto Plant, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the Instrument and Electrical equipment encompassing the plant switch-gear installations, electrical and pneumatic system, Servo motors and frequency drives, PLC controllers and AC / DC drive controls and Robotics.

You will build a meaningful career while supporting BASF Performance Materials business unit, that is active in four major industry sectors – transportation, consumer goods, industrial applications, and construction. The division has a strong portfolio of products and services combined with a deep understanding of application-oriented system solutions.

During your straight day shift as a Instrument Technician I, you will
  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and computer logic to troubleshoot production problems and solve them
  • Perform process control, sensing and monitoring system calibrations and record keeping
  • Work with other team members, engineers and production personnel to complete job tasks, breakdowns, or machine redesigns to improve/resolve production needs
  • Support, maintain and improve the plant MPI programs to maintain equipment reliability
  • Requisition replacement parts from plant inventory as well as obtaining outside sources to replace, upgrade or implement new equipment designs

  • Have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in chemical plant instrumentation maintenance / construction – OR – completion / near completion in the BASF Maintenance Scholarship Program
  • Have the ability to learn SAP, and are experienced with MS Office.
