About this job... As a key member of the Drake Oak Brook, Autograph Collection Sales & Marketing team, the primary goal of is to drive revenue and awareness for the property. This position will support the hotel's efforts to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Under the guidance and direction of the Director of Sales and Marketing, this position will primarily be the creating and working property activations, assisting with social media across all platforms, ideating and working the new and exciting events to take place at the Drake Oak Brook. We are looking for a dynamic go getter who is excited to have a blank canvas and be a part of a highly functioning team promoting a historic and iconic hotel, outlets and brand. This position will be hands on and working in tandem with operational departments of the hotel to continue to execute activations, marketing events, hotel marketing collateral and online presence to drive awareness for the Drake Oak Brook. Some Saturdays and evenings will be required. What you'll be doing... Develop Marketing Strategies and Content: Be the property expert on brand standards both for Marriott, Autograph Collection and the Drake Oak Brook.
Assist in marketing all areas of the hotel (guest room collateral, special menus, promotional materials, hotel cross-marketing including elevator signage, check-in collateral, activations and events etc.) as well as developing community partnerships and events to drive business
Coordinating a minimum of one quarterly community related event.
Attend weekly property marketing meetings
Assist with the ideation of the property activations.
Be the liaison between marketing and operations to execute all activations. Be present at the activations including but not limited Brunch with Santa, Annual Tree Lighting, Specialty High teas etc.
Communicate all details of all activations in written form through our events system to all departments.
Manage social media including Instagram, Tik Tok, and Facebook. Gather content and photo imagery for posts, videos, stories etc....
Work with the DOSM to identify need dates and assist in creating promotions creative assets to drive revenue and capture over these dates.
Coordinate development and execution of photography shoot lists, collect usage rights, and manage internal storage and distribution of imagery. Act as the liaison on the shoot day.
Responsible for managing automated email campaigns.
Analyze past and present trends and make recommendations for future campaigns
Maintain meeting minutes for marketing meetings and calls
Monitor and maintain up-to-date content on hotel and all outlets doing periodic website and platform audits to ensure correct information
Monitor and maintain up-to-date content on listings including Google, TripAdvisor, Yelp and other property listing sites. Maintain one channel per month performance audit to seek and correct misinformation
Facilitate updates to both and vanity websites.
Ensure up-to-date website content and management, including homepage alerts and pop-ups, "happenings" pages to promote our marketing activities, trackable links and reservations links and menus + days/hours of operations
Maintain and publish updated restaurant, banquet and outlet menus for online listings including seasonal and event menus
Administrative Duties and Relationship Management:
Pull and distribute channel audit reports for hotel and restaurant listings
Manage digital assets (photography, 3D tours and video) for the hotel and outlets
Facilitate design and ordering of property print collateral
Attend weekly hotel staff meetings and report out on Marketing initiatives
Attend weekly Food & Beverage Marketing Meeting
Hold monthly check-in meeting to cover Marketing Initiatives with Director of Sales and Marketing
Success factors... Experience & Education: Experience with an emphasis on social media, website, activations, and events a plus
Experience in the travel, tourism, and hospitality space strongly desired
Experience marketing independent and lifestyle hotels a plus
Business copywriting experience preferred
Design experience a plus
Communication: Highly organized with strong communication skills and a teamwork style to accomplishing goals
Organization Skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task required
Performance focused
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate various options and quickly make recommendations
Must be self-motivated and able to meet multiple deadlines
Must be able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Physical: 8+ hours per day sitting desk/computer; stand and walk occasionally throughout workday
Lift, lower, and maneuver up to 10 pounds occasionally
