Ability to travel to various locations on and off-campus to provide service and attend meetings.

Shift

Primarily Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm. May need to work outside these hours as needed based on project requirements.

Days, Evenings, Weekends, Holidays as needed.

Job Summary

The UK Police Department is seeking to grow our Technical Division by adding Physical Security Technicians to our team. The Physical Security Technician will report directly to the UKPD Program Manager.


The physical security technician will be responsible for project installation, preventative maintenance, and device maintenance of the UK central security system.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, conducting regular preventative maintenance on the university electronic security devices, documenting the preventative maintenance tasks and providing to the program manager, providing maintenance and customer support as it relates to the physical security devices on campus.

This work will be requested through a ticketing system and scheduled by the program manager.


The physical security technician will be expected to work with UK-PPD and UKITS when necessary to troubleshoot devices and coordinate additional support.

Electronic security devices include, but are not limited to, access control panels, reader interface boards, panic alarms, and emergency towers.

This position will travel to various UK building locations as needed.
