Boston University Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences is one of the country's leading schools of health and rehabilitation sciences. Home to more than 1300 undergraduate and 450 graduate students, Sargent College combines outstanding faculty and cutting-edge research to provide superb education and clinical experiences. The college has more than 25 on-campus research facilities, clinical centers, and labs. It offers top-ranked degree programs in occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech, language and hearing sciences, health science, human physiology, behavior and health, and nutrition.

Sargent College's Sargent Choice Nutrition Center (SCNC) provides high-quality, evidence-based nutrition services to Boston University faculty, staff, and students, and to the greater Boston community, offers clinical training opportunities for Boston University undergraduate and graduate nutrition students, and engages in interprofessional research to identify and develop future best practices. The SCNC Team includes registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) with advanced degrees and specialized training in eating disorders, weight-related concerns, digestive disorders, food allergies and intolerances, and sports nutrition.

The Nutritionist position at SCNC joins a team of 9 RDNs and will assist the team in fulfilling a variety of responsibilities, including some, but not all, of the following: 1) Working collaboratively with the University's Student Health Services to support students through interactive group nutrition workshops and individual nutrition counseling for students at increased nutritional risk (eating disorders, weight-related concerns, celiac disease, food allergies/intolerances, gastrointestinal disorders, sports nutrition, vegan/vegetarian meal planning); 2) Instructing a one-credit nutrition course, 3) Working collaboratively with Dining Services to support the Sargent Choice Healthy Food and Education Program; 4) Providing custom group seminars for BU and non-BU affiliated groups, 5) Providing services to BU faculty and staff as part of the BU Wellness Program; and 6) Providing fee-for-service medical nutrition therapy services to non-BU affiliated referrals. Each of these service areas includes a component of student supervision for undergraduate and graduate nutrition students and dietetic interns.

The Nutritionist will sustain and support a culture that celebrates the diversity of individuals and ideas, and values accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Sargent College believes the cultural and social diversity of our faculty, staff, and students is vitally important to our academic mission of excellence.
