What You'll Do
We're looking for a Product Manager to join our Web and Application Hosting team within Information Services (IS). In this role, you'll drive enterprise solutions to improve Principal's engineering teams and be instrumental in applying your expertise in strategy, product, and agility. Information Services is building tools to improve the lives of our engineers and to promote engineering excellence across the enterprise, and this specific opening is on a product team that supports our web and application hosting capabilities. We're seeking a product professional who wants to contribute to an environment that encourages partnership, knowledge sharing, best practice consistency, and critical thinking that results in high-quality and innovative outcomes.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Support and drive product strategy in alignment with Principal's enterprise strategic imperatives and department objectives.
- Establish product practices and drive outcomes while collaborating with technology leaders and teams.
- Collaborate to create, refine, and prioritize backlog items for engineering teams.
- Drive the selection of features through prioritization of the product backlog, monitor value delivery on the way to completion.
- Proactively identify and improve components of the delivery system to produce desired results. Spread knowledge and inspire change.
- Influence, identify and suggest solutions to continuously improve the practices and methods used to deliver capabilities to the enterprise.
- Build strong partnerships across enterprise teams. Garner support, trust, and engagement for teams to proactively overcome barriers.
- Help and coach teams to be empowered to own solutions being crafted versus directing what needs to be done and how it should work.
- Be curious and open to learning. Challenge status quo, encourage innovation, be forward-thinking and approachable.

Who You Are
- 4+ years of business, technology, or product management experience; or equivalent demonstrated through the following: work experience, military experience, or education
- 2+ years experience working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with engineering teams and partners
- Superb communication skills including the ability to influence and negotiate with partners at all levels of the company
- Strong critical thinking/vision and decision-making skills along with business savviness and relationship leadership skills
- Experience successfully leading multiple products and/or competing priorities
- Demonstrated experience leveraging diverse perspectives and use of customer, user, or partner data and insights to advise decisions and actions
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
- Knowledge or experience with enterprise collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar agile project management tools
- Product Management experience working with engineering teams
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range
$ $182400 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Hours
This role will partner with our global teams and has an expectation for flexibility in your work schedule to have a frequent start time around 7am CST.
Job Level
We'll consider talent at the next level (Senior Product Manager I) with the right experiences and skills.
Work Environments
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors
