HSBC Global Trade Solutions (GTS) serves as a core service provider for Commercial (CMB) and Global Banking (GBM) customers.
Reporting to the Americas Head of Financial Institutions (FI) & Institutional Client Group (ICG) for GTS, the role is responsible for collaborating with Coverage to deliver the ICG and Insurance Trade strategy by focusing on new originations and scaling existing clients, collaborating with a team of likeminded sales executives.
As our Director, Head of Institutional ICG & Insurance, GTS Sales Manager you will:
  • Cover clients pro-actively through a content led, high impact strategy
  • Originate and structure the end-to-end transaction, ensuring necessary collaboration with colleagues across Coverage, Capital Management, Credit, Legal, Distribution, Credit Risk, etc
  • Ensure origination and scaling up of profitable business with focus on balance sheet velocity
  • Work with Product Management to ensure HSBC GTS delivers client needs by collaborating across Fintech and 3rd party providers to deliver a best-in-class solution
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers in the ICG and Insurance sectors to identify trends in each sector and related new opportunities and advise clients on solutions that solve for industry problems
  • Proactively manage client relationships and originate new Structured Trade and Core Trade finance transactions across the US
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships within GTS including Sales, Business Portfolio Risk Management, Risk and Compliance, GTS Services and Transaction Risk Management
  • Lead deal execution including preparing approval materials, negotiating legal documentation and coordinating with internal partners
  • Be part of a cohesive global sector coverage team by coordinating and collaborating with regional and global colleagues to deliver HSBCs GTS solutions, while growing managed revenues
  • Adhere to governance and compliance requirements
  • Build out sector specific propositions in collaboration with product management and platforms
  • Enhance Structured Trade penetration across both the GB and CMB portfolios
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $163,500.00 and $245,300.00
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements
You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
  • Deep Structured Trade Finance experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of Core Trade Solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Credit
  • Good understanding of Fintech platforms, market solutions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Specific industry experience in the Financial Sponsors and Insurance sectors
  • Ability to manage deal execution, including legal documentation negotiations, necessary approvals and timelines
  • Excellent time management, planning and organization skills
  • Bachelor's (Master's preferred) Degree in Finance, accounting or related fields
  • Leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese a strong plus
