Job Description:

This position is located within the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Regional Office (AKRO), Regional Administrator with one vacancy located in Juneau, AK.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and maintaining office administrative procedures, calendars, and paper/electronic filing systems, and use computerized databases to maintain records and automated tracking system(s) for summary information, data retrieval, reports, or document control.
  • Ensure purchase requests are properly authorized, reconcile purchase card transactions in accounting system and maintain purchase card files.
  • Create and maintain time and attendance records, prepare and process travel authorizations/vouchers, create and maintain staff training records, prepare and track mail correspondence, and oversee scheduling of meetings, conference calls, etc.
  • Use hardware components including electronic typewriters, word processors, etc. and apply software packages including word processing, database management, spreadsheet, etc. to provide general clerical office support.
  • Represent the organization to a variety of audiences, answer inquiries of a general or routine nature as well as in-depth questions about the functions and processes of the organization.
  • Maintain accounting databases; provide management with fiscal reports; review cost transactions and reconcile discrepancies; consult with fiscal specialists.
