Job Overview:

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking three analytics professionals to be part of ODM's Bureau of Strategic & Performance Analytics. These positions will be cross disciplinary and provide the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the development of new processes that inform the health care of millions of Ohioans. The positions available are below:

State Directed Payment (SDP) Analytics Specialist (PN
  • supports the development of SDP reports
  • collaborates with Fiscal and Policy to design, create, and maintain routine reporting on provider participation, member attribution, and claims activity related to SDPs
  • designs, studies, and conducts research projects regarding SDP program and policies including reporting requirement set out by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • provides consultation services and analytical assistance to provider organizations involved in SDP Program
  • supports strategic planning, policy development, reporting, and program evaluation for ODM activities
  • experience with SQL and SAS preferred, but not required
Data Visualization Specialist (PN
  • provides analytic support for strategic planning, policy development, and program evaluation for ODM healthcare services
  • assists in communication of data and metrics to a variety of stakeholders as part of ODM's Dashboarding Analytics Team
  • attends meetings to assist in the development of tools, metrics, dashboards, and models to aid policy decision-making
  • develops and implements scalable analytics reporting using analytics software such as SAS and Tableau
  • establishes standards for data consistency and analytic support
SDP Analytics Specialist (PN
  • heavily involved in the monitoring and reporting related to SDPs
  • works on an interdisciplinary team on topics related to SDPs and health equity, health outcomes & quality improvement, and performance metric design
  • participates on project teams to assist in the development of tools, metrics, dashboards, and models to aid policy decision-making
  • responds to requests for data from internal and external stakeholders
  • conducts literature reviews to identify and implement best practices in program oversight
  • prepares reports related to state and federal requirements
  • experience in quality improvement methods and performance metric design is preferred, but not required
The ideal candidates will be familiar with relational databases and demonstrate experience with data analysis. Qualifications

Completion of undergraduate core coursework & 12 mos. exp. in one of following: health services administration, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, public administration, allied health sciences, nursing, economics, public health, or comparable field; 2 yrs. exp. in health services research &/or health policy analysis; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in research methodology, measurement & testing, analysis of variance & survey sampling; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in use of computer programs/applications with emphasis on relational data bases, use of computer hardware, software used for spreadsheets, statistical analysis, graphics presentation & word processing; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in multiple regression or multivariate analysis.
