Position Overview
A Safety and Security Specialist is essential in fostering a secure environment for Alliance Data Card Services and its workforce. This role involves safeguarding company resources, mitigating risks, and ensuring the overall safety of personnel at designated locations. Unlike traditional security roles, this position is dynamic and requires active engagement in a fast-paced setting that appreciates the contributions of its security team. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure a safe workplace for associates, contractors, and visitors, while also preparing you to patrol actively and respond to potential threats against the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Life Safety - Ensure the safety of premises and personnel by conducting regular patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, inspecting facilities, and controlling access to restricted areas. Prevent losses by reporting irregularities and addressing policy violations, while investigating hazards and unusual circumstances.
2. Associate Engagement - Deliver exceptional customer service to associates, clients, and guests, embodying the unique culture of Alliance Data. Security Specialists should be approachable and professional, demonstrating diligence in all interactions.
3. Emergency Management - Provide first-response services for emergencies within your training scope. Escalate situations requiring additional assistance to appropriate emergency services. Be prepared to respond swiftly to medical incidents and other emergencies across company premises.
4. Administrative Duties - Document incidents using electronic reporting tools, record observations, and manage access control and surveillance systems. Communicate effectively with supervisors and report necessary information promptly.
5. Technology Monitoring - Oversee environmental controls and report any irregularities. Respond to alarms and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Physical Requirements - The role demands the ability to respond quickly to security events and medical situations, which may include lifting equipment and participating in physical training. Flexibility in working hours is essential to accommodate a 24/7 operational environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Minimum of two years in Security Operations, Law Enforcement, Military, or Customer Service.
Preferred Experience
- One or more years of college education in Security or Law Enforcement.
- Three or more years of experience in Security or Law Enforcement.
