JOB SUMMARY


The Assessment Assistant reports to the Director of Assessment and Technology and is accountable for coordinating data required to meet state participation rates.

The responsibilities include pulling data reports to inform principals, managers, teachers, and other stakeholders of state deadlines.

This person will additionally serve as part of the student testing personnel and schedule testing with teachers and Principals to ensure that students are being assessed within the state-mandated testing window.

This position supports the Five Keys Southern California Academic Program; multiple sites throughout Los Angeles county in the SoCal region.

Hours from 8 am - 4 pm.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete information for each student tested, administers the appropriate test, and completes the numerical scoring for parts of the test, including CASAS, CAASPP, ELPAC, CCI exams, and any other staterequired assessments
  • Complete testing according to the timelines provided by state and federal guidelines
  • Prepare materials for testing
  • Complete initial scoring and review procedures with the assessment manager
  • Validate Home Language survey data for accuracy of information from student registration forms
  • Ensure proper execution of assessment policies and keep up to date with changes as they happen
  • Work collaboratively with school staff by completing various testrelated tasks to ensure exams are administered smoothly
  • Coordinate assessment appointments
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google Drives/Docs, and Zoom
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality and take all precautions when handling sensitive information

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must wear provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements, when needed
  • Frequent talking and hearing conversations
  • Long periods of walking, sitting at a desk and/or computer station
  • Lifting items that weigh up to 25 lbs.; reaching, bending, carrying and stooping within the daily routine of tasks and activities

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is contingent upon:

  • Satisfactory results of a Live Scan (criminal background investigation)
  • Successfully obtaining jail clearance for positions working in county jails or probation locations
  • Submitting proof of clear TB results. Results dated within 60 days prior to hire date are acceptable

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Moderate to high noise level
  • Work environment varies from site to site
  • Some personal safety risk working in underserved communities
  • Must be willing and able to travel statewide to various locations or meetings as needed
  • Up to 30% travel to Five Keys locations throughout California as needed
