Senior Product Manager, Clinical Services WorkflowsThe OpportunityYou will fill a critical role in our Clinicals team within our Product Management organization where you will drive product definition, design, and deployment of product services for our clients and lead other team members in doing the same.

You will do so in an exciting environment driven by a desire to enable more efficient and effective care.

This is a hybrid role located at our Boston, MA office.

Position SummaryThe Senior Product Manager is responsible for ownership of complex and/or multiple product areas within their overarching Product's portfolio.

This includes understanding the market and customer, contributing to a product vision, developing business cases, ensuring a product, or set of product features meets business requirements and driving the creation and delivery of the product.

This position will work daily within scrum leaders to ensure effective definition and writing of user stories, prioritizing product backlogs, and making trade off decisions between scope and schedule.

We collaborate to deliver an efficient, tailored, and intuitive experience for our healthcare providers so they can deliver high quality patient care.

ResponsibilitiesDrive ongoing backlog allocations and prioritization of customer jobs to solve within area of responsibilityDefine epics and user stories, clearly articulating business requirements for the problems we're trying to solve, in support of and partnership with UX and Engineering team membersUnderstand the market opportunity via user needs, market forces and applicable business models; with regards to what would best serve our clients today as well as in the futureIdentify and track metrics and success criteria to create transparency and visibility to program success and opportunities for improvement – requesting analyses to inform backlogPartner with Product Management leaders to be the voice of product decisions within the organizationServe as Product Owner for scrum teams covering assigned product areaDetermines whether experiments, alpha, and/or beta stages are needed to determine Product-Market fit and appropriately defines and utilizes themEvaluate pricing models in partnership with Product Strategy to determine how best to value the productPartner with Product Management leaders to drive portfolio and product strategyEngage with Sales, Customer Success, Product Marketing, and other internal partner teams as needed to determine best ways to communicate product to customers; and to assist Product Management leadership with service descriptionsContribute to the development of overall product management team by lending your knowledge and experience to teach others what you knowTypical QualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required7+ years overall professional experience, inclusive of a minimum of 4-6 years of product management experienceUnderstanding of healthcare / health IT environment and the landscape of Clinical Services WorkflowsExperience working with stakeholders in a business environment, working across cross-functional groupsExperience working in an Agile environment strongly preferredTechnical understanding (SaaS, data, FHIR, HL7v2) – ability to gut check technical feasibility and timelines and remove technical development barriersExperience bringing products to marketDemonstrated success at driving innovative results in a fast-paced environment and managing simultaneously competing priorities using analytic and quantitative capabilities to drive product decisionsAbility to explain your positioning to various people around the company in an effective wayAbout AthenahealthHere's our vision:To create a thriving ecosystem that delivers accessible, high-quality, and sustainable healthcare for all.
