Job Summary
ESH Medical Records Correspondence Clerk will file and retrieve medical records, and perform chart preparation. Functions as Release of Information Clerk. Ensure that all medical records filing is completed promptly. Will also pull records for any UNOS audits, site surveys, and Joint Commission chart audits. Will also organize any chart purge process.
Partners and collaborates with management and others to ensure compliance with Federal, state, and local rules, regulations laws, etc.; Hospital Policies, Procedures, etc.
Inventory, Ensures all medical records supplies are available and submits orders as needed.Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Completion of high school plus three years of experience.
Theemployee shall become familiar with HIPAA regulations and dotheir utmost to protect all protected health information (PHI)and other personal or sensitive information within their trust inthe course of state business by applying appropriate safeguardsand sharing only the information required to deliver agencyservices.
Any personal or sensitive information overheard or seenby the employee will be kept confidential by not sharing it withothers, on or off the work-site grounds.
Fully participate in allactivities regarding the elimination of the use of seclusion andrestraints in patient care including educational requirements,competency development activities, and meeting establishedperformance goals and measures.
Must have computer competency inapproved systems. Must have excellent customer service skills.Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
