About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign accurate Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) and complete medical necessity/compliance checks for all patients admitted for services.
  • Provide proper patient instructions, collect insurance information, receive and process physician orders, and utilize an overlay tool while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as applicable.
  • Adhere to policies and provide excellent customer service in interactions with patients and colleagues.
  • Meet point of service goals as assigned and conduct audits of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Pre-register patient accounts prior to visits, including inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic, insurance, and other patient information.
  • Explain general consent for treatment forms to patients/guarantors/legal guardians, obtain necessary signatures, and witness names.
  • Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems and select applicable insurance plan codes.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of customer service experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification required within 9 months of hire.
