Provide specialized perioperative care to patients undergoing procedures ranging from highly complex, high acuity surgeries.

Assess patients' physiological and psychosocial status to formulate a database (nursing care plan) to include developing goals based upon nursing diagnosis and desired patient outcomes.

Manage care of patients for a wide range of surgical procedures of an advanced nature and difficulty, where there is a high susceptibility to infection and bodily functions are mechanically assisted by life support equipment.

Perform duty as a circulator and scrub person during surgical procedures

Brief Recovery Room nursing staff on perioperative nursing orders and other pertinent data such as surgical procedures performed, patient problems, etc.

Provide nursing diagnoses and actions, patient response, specialized care and equipment required to support the patient.

Conduct postoperative nursing assessment immediately following and within forty-eight hours after surgery to determine validity of nursing care plan, outcomes and long-range patient goals.
