As a Surgical Technologist, you will engage in a cooperative setting to provide exceptional patient care under the supervision of a licensed clinical professional in a medical facility.
A Surgical Tech is responsible for the technical duties associated with the 'scrub' role throughout the surgical patient's perioperative journey.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room and assist in patient readiness.
- Equip rooms with necessary instruments, sutures, supplies, and apparatus; manage sterile supplies and organize sterile setups for surgical procedures.
- Conduct office tests and administrative tasks as needed.
- Evaluate supplies and equipment for procedures based on surgeon's preferences.
- Exhibit the necessary skills and knowledge to arrange an operating room with appropriate equipment and instruments for specific surgeries.
- Inform the circulator of any missing or malfunctioning equipment or supplies.
- Practice cost efficiency by utilizing only essential supplies for the procedure.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of a surgical technician program AND/OR 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Tech is preferred.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
