Director of Construction

As the Utility Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the global utility strategy while also ensuring oversight and management of utility recovery, billing, invoice processing and adherence to regulatory requirements. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills, a strong utility acumen, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the strategic direction of the utility program
  • Ensure regulatory filings and audits are filed timely with Utility Commissions
  • Manage Green Energy initiatives, tracking and reporting
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on the utility onboarding process for acquisitions and management takeovers
  • Manage utility billing and utility invoice processing
  • Manage relationship with utility partners
  • Report on utility meter health and RFP status for identified repairs
  • Assess and analyze data specific to utilities in support of property health (i.e.- vacant cost recovery, utility billing, late fees, etc.)
  • Provide utility billing recommendations and guidance to operations
  • Act as the technical lead and point of contact for utility related issues for operations team
  • Partner with corporate support departments to provide expertise on utility compliance issues related to regulatory requirements and proposed regulations or standards
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned or necessary

  • Multifamily experience Preferred
  • Strong commitment to company goals and values
  • Ability to work well with a variety of personalities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to develop relationships with all departments and associates
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
  • Valid DriverâTMs License is required

Travel Requirement: This position entails travel, estimated at 20% of work time annually. Travel may be required for property visits, conferences, training sessions, or other business-related activities.
