We are currently seeking a seasoned Sourcing Manager specializing in Energy & Utilities to enhance our Sourcing Team within the North American sector.

Key Responsibilities:

a) Energy Utilities Procurement

  • Negotiate and finalize sourcing agreements throughout the region.
  • Develop strategies to optimize energy expenditures.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing network to enhance energy efficiency and undertake related projects.

b) Sustainability and Carbon Reduction

  • Lead the development of the regional decarbonization strategy, targeting a reduction in carbon emissions in line with global sustainability objectives.
  • Implement and advocate for energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources across all operations.
  • Monitor and report on sustainability metrics and progress towards energy reduction and sustainability goals.
  • Promote and integrate circular economy principles into energy and utilities procurement strategies.

c) Market Intelligence

  • Continuously assess key market conditions, trends, and regulations.
  • Identify opportunities and mitigate risks for Kemira, emphasizing sustainability and long-term environmental impact.

d) Strategic Collaboration

  • Engage with various levels within Kemira to cultivate a culture of sustainability.
  • Work alongside external energy experts, suppliers, and sustainability consultants to develop and manage a comprehensive sustainability strategy.
  • Participate in industry forums and sustainability initiatives to remain informed about best practices and innovations.

Qualifications:

a) Education: A university degree, preferably in Engineering (Electrical, Energy, Environmental, or related fields).

b) Experience: A minimum of 5 years in the utility/energy sector with a focus on sustainability. Previous experience in energy procurement, trading, and power generation is essential, along with familiarity with regional market operators and regulators.

c) Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven ability to independently drive strategic initiatives and develop sustainable solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate electricity procurement strategies, utility tariffs, energy projects, and contracts through a sustainability lens.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills for complex legal and commercial agreements.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects effectively, demonstrating excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience engaging with external market stakeholders and internal teams to facilitate change management towards sustainability objectives.
  • Familiarity with SAP, eSourcing tools, energy trading platforms, and hedging protocols.
