Role Overview:

The FP&A Manager will drive financial planning, reporting, and analysis, supporting strategic and operational decisions in a dynamic food manufacturing environment.

This role is pivotal in enhancing our client's financial visibility and strategic decision-making, directly influencing profitability and efficiency across the company.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop financial models specific to food manufacturing.
  • Management of budgeting and operational forecasting with a focus on production costs and supply chain efficiencies.
  • Provide detailed performance reporting to influence strategic planning and business development.
  • Engage in strategic business partnering with key departments to align financial strategies with business operations.
  • Manage cost optimization projects to improve profit margins and operational efficiencies.
  • Evaluate capital expenditures and investments in new technologies or facilities.
  • Manage and mentor direct report staff as needed.


What You’ll Contribute:

Proactive hands-on contributor and manager of the following and other areas as needed:

  • Financial Analysis: Develop financial models tailored to the manufacturing sector. Analyze production costs, supply chain efficiencies, and market trends.
  • Budgeting and Operational Forecasting: Contribute to the budgeting process, focusing on production costs, procurement, and distribution. Regularly update forecasts to reflect changes and operational adjustments to proactive communication to leadership.
  • Performance Reporting: Ensure the generation of detailed reports on production performance, cost of goods sold, and operational efficiency. Provide monthly financial insights that influence production strategies and business development.
  • Strategic Business Partnering: Collaborate teams and cross functional stakeholders including production, supply chain, and sales departments to align financial strategies with business operations. Offer financial solutions that enhance production efficiencies and profitability.
  • Cost Management: Lead initiatives to optimize manufacturing costs and improve profit margins. Assess financial impacts of operational decisions and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Investment and CapEx Analysis: Evaluate and propose financial justification for capital expenditures and investments in new manufacturing technologies, facilities, or business ventures as needed.
  • Reporting: Manage accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management. Highlight significant variances, trends, and areas of concern.
  • Business Partnering: Act as a finance business partner to various departments, providing financial expertise and support in decision-making processes.
  • Cost Analysis and Reduction: Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities. Implement cost control measures and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek to improve financial processes and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Essentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in FP&A, ideally in manufacturing or food production.
  • In-depth knowledge of food industry and or manufacturing industry cost structures and financial operations.
  • Strong understanding of perishable raw materials.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.

Desirables:

  • Experience in leading sustainability initiatives within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Proven track record of process improvement and cost reduction.

Client Partner Insights:

  • Work with premium brands in the food manufacturing industry. This role demands a proactive manager who can navigate complex financial landscapes and ensure FP&A daily operational efficiency.

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary is $130,000 and $140,000, based on qualifications and experience. Additionally, this role includes eligibility for performance-based bonus. The formulation of an offer is at the desertion of the client, determined through a fair and equitable process that considers a range of factors including but not limited to the skills, experience, and education, salary may vary with the range based on such factors.
