Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst, Retail

As a Senior FP&A Analyst, you will collaborate closely with the finance and retail divisions to enhance reporting, forecasting, and budgeting for our rapidly expanding physical retail operations. We seek an individual with a solid background in retail FP&A and a comprehensive understanding of new store financial planning, store-level analytics, and retail FP&A methodologies at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance our monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and review mechanisms for the retail sector.
- Assist in maintaining and refining our retail operational framework.
- Analyze financial outcomes, evaluate discrepancies from forecasts, and create insightful dashboards and concise narratives to depict retail performance.
- Develop a more sophisticated new store assessment and forecasting tool to facilitate informed go/no-go decisions for new locations.
- Offer strategic financial guidance to our Retail team and pinpoint opportunities to enhance key performance indicators and essential financial metrics.
- Identify inefficiencies within our processes and implement corrective measures.
- Support the monthly closing process in collaboration with Accounting and FP&A.
- Conduct ad hoc financial modeling and analysis as required.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's Degree in economics, finance, mathematics, engineering, or business is preferred but not mandatory.
- 4+ years of experience in retail FP&A within a mid-cap or large-cap brick-and-mortar retail environment. Experience with public retailers is advantageous.
- Proficient in Excel, with a willingness to utilize Google Sheets if not previously experienced.
- Proven ability to collaborate with and influence stakeholders outside the finance department.
- Inquisitive mindset with a strong desire to comprehend business outcomes.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools is a plus (e.g., Looker, Amplitude, Mixpanel).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) is beneficial.
- PC user; no Macs utilized in finance.
