Albuquerque, United States LHH Knightsbridge Full time

THE ORGANIZATION

Sceye is a material science company leading a new generation of high-altitude platform stations, or HAPS. Our groundbreaking work will help transform lives. Sceye’s success has been built on a meticulous iterative development and testing process combined with extensive flight experience, allowing us to create the most advanced product in the HAPS sector.

Our engineering team has a wealth of diverse expertise that combines the best of America’s Cup, aerospace and advanced academic research. We chose the form factor of an airship over balloons and fixed wing aircrafts as it allows for geostationary capability while lifting and powering far more payload than any other platform.

Sceye is solar powered during the day and battery powered at night. We don’t rely on rocket fuel like satellites or single use plastics like balloons.

Working with our global partners, our mission is to connect and protect our planet from the stratosphere.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Based in Albuquerque, NM, the Executive Vice President, Engineering Technology is a newly created role and a critical leader who will hold full executive accountability for the management, leadership, and strategy development of Sceye.

Mentoring and managing the Sceye staff and working effectively will be critical to the success of the EVP, Engineering Technology. The successful candidate will work across the business to understand business strategies, collaborate on current and multi-year requirements, and recommend and implement engineering, information technology and business process solutions to support and drive world-class performance of the entire company. Agile, collaborative, humble and future focused, the EVP, will partner with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive ongoing improvements and deliver long-term profitable growth for the company.

The EVP, will work closely with core application vendors to develop meaningful and commercially productive relationships, ensuring Sceye optimizes the value of their systems and applications. The ideal candidate will also leverage existing and emerging technologies to develop annual budgets and longer-range investment plans that align with the company’s current and future business requirements and strategic imperatives. A true business partner, the EVP, will ensure systems and processes are in place to protect Sceye’s intellectual properties and private data as well as information provided from customers and external business partners.

As a people-focused and inspiring leader, the EVP, Engineering Technology will act as a catalyst for transformation toward the development of a high-performance, engaged, accountable and growth-focused organization. A visionary who is business savvy, the EVP, is able to see the big picture and bring focus to the wider organization while balancing short and long-term objectives to turn strategies into reality.

The EVP, Engineering Technology will be a strategic thinker with strong business acumen. The expectation is for this leader to be well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with a variety of business concepts. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and capable of working effectively with various leaders within the organization.
