The opportunity:

We are looking for highly skilled and experienced VP of Sales to join our team, the Sales Director will develop and manage customer relationships across a defined set of accounts, seeking opportunities for increasing turnover, profit margin, volume, and market share in accordance with a defined set of targets and KPI’s. The role also involves seeking opportunities for engaging new customers and opportunities for growth as well as managing other internal and external sales professionals.



The successful candidate will be based along the East Coast (Ideally NY, NJ, Conn, PA or MD)


What are key duties of the role?

Account Management

  • To deliver against all KPI’s set out within your designated accounts as agreed by the SVP Global Sales and The President of WCT
  • To achieve and exceed targets in line with the budget/forecast
  • Provide a main point of contact for existing accounts & establish and develop customer relationships through regular contact (phone, email, face to face meetings) with buying, merchandising, and marketing teams
  • Manage buying schedules and sales calendar plan meetings in accordance with all seasonal and year-round selections
  • Manage internal and external sales professionals
  • Prepare visually and verbally engaging presentations and data analysis ahead of customer meetings
  • Develop an understanding of customer business strategies and structure a business development plan that suits the customer requirements which includes Identifying appropriate products and ranges appropriate to specific customers, understanding their margin requirements, distribution, compliance, and all other aspects of the account, arranging samples for customers when required working with the relevant departments.
  • Communicate customer feedback and relevant commercial information to relevant depts. within the company through the call report process
  • Brief NPD with any development requirements, feeding back vital information such as quantity, expected turnover, target ready dates and analysing customer business performance
  • Calculate customer prices using our quoting system and formulate quotes into customer specific format, negotiating cost prices and terms with customers to achieve target margins
  • Confirm quantities and delivery dates, updating customer of any changes throughout the process
  • Communicate customer specific packaging requirements (labels, cartons, artwork) in accordance with customer supplier manual
  • Analysing customer sales data and identifying on-going stock requirements with supply chain
  • Liaise with Supply Chain regarding ready dates, gold sealing and customer sign off

Trade Shows

  • Represent the company at US trade shows in a professional sales capacity during and outside of normal working hours.
  • Assist with the build and breakdown of tradeshow stands as needed
  • Meet with new and existing customers and identify opportunities to up-sell, implement show offers and target growth opportunities
  • Give sales demonstrations to customer educating them about products, and take customer orders
  • Conduct Face to face meetings (planned and impromptu) as well as scheduling customer meetings for future dates, entertaining customers, and potential customers accordingly
  • Proactively follow up sales leads generated from all trade shows and maximize the sales lead conversion rate

Admin

  • Provide an accurate forecast of sales business by account and complete the Company pipeline report as required
  • Keeping track of sales leads generated

New Business

  • Pro-actively identify new business opportunities and new customers in accordance with companies’ product range.

General

  • Prepare for and attend weekly Sales Meetings and attend relevant training courses/seminars as appropriate to the role.


What we need you to bring to the team:

  • Bachelors degree or 8-10 years direct sales experience
  • Retail Toy sales experience
  • People management skills
  • Numeracy and literacy skills
  • Microsoft office, outlook, word, PowerPoint, excel - Intermediate level
  • Presentation skills
  • Commercial Selling & Negotiation skills
  • Project Management skills – ability to develop and manage a critical path
