About the Company: Our client, a well-established, privately held spinal implant manufacturer is adding a new Area Sales Director to manage the New England/Northeast region.

The Area Sales Director will be responsible for all commercial activities/responsibilities in working towards the stated sales goals of the organization. In their designated area, they will be responsible for:

  • Leading the achievement of the organization’s sales goals
  • Accelerate area revenue and market penetration of company’s portfolio of products
  • Providing leadership, education and support of all sales organizations/individuals in their area

Responsibilities:

  • Build area business and revenue plan to include: territory analysis, market opportunity, call pattern and frequency, surgeon/hospital penetration strategies, surgeon case funnel by product and required resources to execute the plan
  • Seek out, attract and recruit experienced sales organizations and individuals to promote the sale of company products
  • Continually evaluate the sales performance of all entities and individuals in their respective area
  • Coach the further development of the distributors and reps, by enhancing their clinical knowledge and experience with the company product portfolio
  • Work with the distributor principals on the development of bi-annual sales plans to increase sales results in their territory. Set objectives, determine resources, training, and surgeon support programs required to achieve stated sales goals
  • Work with CEO and other Area Sales Directors on the formation of annual business plan, including forecasting of sales, expense budgeting, establishing inventory levels required to meet the needs of the current and growing customer base
  • Provide company Sr. leadership with periodic sales business plan updates as requested
  • Work in coordination with in-house sales administration on obtaining and maintaining contract approval status with regional and national health care systems
  • Assist distributor partners with submission of appropriate pricing information, product registry, and clinical information in order to gain approval for company products in hospitals and ASC’s
  • Provide clinical case coverage to surgeons using our products when asked or required
  • Represent the company at all industry sponsored meetings when asked or required
  • Provide Sr sales and marketing management with critical intelligence on market trends and/or competitive activity
  • Work to assure that distributor partners follow all company “compliance” policies and guidelines
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the V.P. US Sales, as needed

Requirements:

REQUIRED: Must have 10+ years successful experience in SPINE medical device sales management

4 year degree or higher is strongly preferred

  • The ability to travel a minimum of 70% of the time within their designated area
  • Maintain consistent communication with all assigned agents and distributors within area
  • Effectively manage the company resources and expenses within their region
  • Provide sr. management with timely follow up on all requests
