Business Development leaders collaborate closely with practice and industry group leaders, as well as client team leaders, to develop and execute strategic business development initiatives. This position offers flexible hybrid work options and can be based in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Orange County, Dallas, or New York City. Considering applicants in the 160K-215K range.


Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify business development opportunities, coordinate attorney teams to pitch new business, and drive opportunities
  • Draft pitches, RFP responses, presentations, talking points, and background briefing material
  • Prepare submissions for rankings, directories, and other publications
  • Create marketing materials, including collateral, website content, and more
  • Coordinate and participate in practice, industry group, and client team meetings
  • Collaborate with other Client Development team members to identify opportunities for cross-marketing
  • Gather intelligence on firm clients, targets, and market trends to provide attorneys with a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape, positioning the firm for greater success in winning new business
  • Plan and implement client meetings and events, including webinars and in-person gatherings
  • Provide internal training and coaching to partners on business development skills
  • Develop and manage practice and industry group business development budgets
  • Support the recruitment and integration of lateral hires
  • Coordinate with the Communications team on PR opportunities


Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in marketing and/or business development; law firm experience is strongly preferred, though candidates from premier professional services environments may also be considered
  • Strong knowledge of corporate/transactional practice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to anticipate needs
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a communications-related field is required; an advanced degree is a preferred
