We are seeking an experience Project Manager to join a partner of ours out of Dover, OH. This is a nested contract position, local candidates are preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides role model leadership for safety culture and behavior on capital projects.
  • Responsible for safety, scope, schedule and cost of project and ensures that customer needs are met.
  • Follow IKCP stage-gated process, ensuring documentation is managed properly.
  • Self directed and works without appreciable direction to execute through to project completion.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining project objectives of assignment.
  • Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results.
  • Provides imaginative, thorough, practical solutions that are consistent with organizational objectives to a wide range of projects.
  • Plans and conducts assignments, generally involving the larger and more important projects or more than one project.
  • Able to solve complex operating issues through collaboration with peers, outside engineering and support and management.
  • Poor decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major objectives.
  • Manages small to intermediate engineering project teams.
  • Defines the scope and objectives of projects based on operational needs.
  • Provides direction to junior engineers and evaluates their work.
  • Negotiation, leadership, assertiveness and follow-through skills are key to successful completion of tasks.
  • Conducts briefings to Senior Management on project health.
  • Determine scope, budget and timeline of small to intermediate projects.
  • Clearly demonstrates ownership of the financial results of assigned projects or functional areas, influences others to do same.
  • Understands the profitability impact of projects and manages accordingly.


Required Skills:

  • Applies extensive project principles
  • Applies knowledge of more advanced systematic and creative problem solving tools.
  • Effective Communications Skills (verbally, written, presentation).
  • Collaborates effectively with plant engineering, maintenance, and leadership.
  • Able to rapidly acquire knowledge of the site(s) including chemical processes and physical layout.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, Excel and e-mail
  • Highly capable in generating Gantt charts for project scheduling and tracking
  • SAP proficiency or experience is a plus
  • Should have 3+ years of project management experience using a stage-gated process
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in safely executing field work.


Education, Certifications & Licenses:

  • 5-10 years with BS in designated Engineering is preferred. Alternately, a related field and PMP certification would be considered.
  • Leadership, organization and planning skills are essential. Supervisory training and experience. Significant project Mgmt. experience. Shows indications of being able to influence other groups.
