Job Summary:

As the Human Resources and Payroll Manager at Modena Allergy + Asthma, you will play a crucial role in overseeing HR and payroll operations to support our mission of delivering exceptional patient care. This role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, and payroll management. You will collaborate closely with our executive team to develop strategies that align with our commitment to providing a positive and supportive HR experience for our employees.


HR Functions:

  • Facilitate onboarding for new hires, including providers, supporting staff and corporate employees.
  • Act as main point of contact for any employee concerns, questions or feedback.
  • Administer various human resource plans and procedures, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement personnel policies, maintaining the employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Support recruitment efforts for all positions, conduct onboarding and orientations, and oversee career development initiatives.
  • Manage employee relations, including counseling, performance reviews and conducting exit interviews.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Support in fostering a positive employee culture through community engagement, program development and DEI efforts.
  • Manage benefit programs for employees, including onboarding new employees, overseeing open enrollment, as well as future-planning and researching competitive benefit options.
  • Oversee and manage 401k program.


Payroll Functions

  • Enter and maintain employee data in the payroll system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll, including verifying time and attendance records.
  • Audit timecards for overtime and meal and break period compliance.
  • Collaborate with department supervisors on time and attendance issues.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and verify expense reimbursement requests.
  • Generate payroll reports and address employee inquiries related to payroll.


Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP) credential preferred.
  • Two to four years of progressive experience in human resources, preferably within the healthcare space.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and payroll software, preferably Paychex.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, particularly CA/AZ.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Hours:

  • Job Schedule: Full Time M-F, 40 hours/week
  • Job Shift: Day
  • Shift Hours: 8 Hour Shift


Environment:

  • Position will start primarily as remote, but will transition to 2-3 days in-office out of our Solana Beach 92075 location (opening late 2024). May require occasional travel to other offices in CA/AZ on an as-needed basis.
