Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Microsoft System Engineer to join their IT department at our Maryland Heights, MO location in a contract capacity. You will focus predominantly on Microsoft products such as Azure, M365/O365, and Active Directory, and ensure the smooth operation of these systems, while conforming to operational practices and security guidelines.


Responsibilities:

  1. Engineer, monitor, and maintain Active Directory, O365/M365, and Azure systems to ensure optimal performance.
  2. Manage hybrid environments that include Azure, M365/O365 and on-premises Active Directory.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to these systems.
  4. Collaborate with teams to implement updates, upgrades and security configurations.
  5. Implement and monitor backup and recovery procedures for Microsoft systems.
  6. Ensure the security and integrity of system and data access and usage.
  7. Prepare and maintain system documentation and procedures.
  8. Provide technical support to business users, diagnosing and solving systems/network related issues.
  9. Conduct research and recommend hardware and software improvements.
  10. Train junior staff on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing server, network, and cloud issues.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or relevant field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in system administration/engineering, preferably with a strong focus on Microsoft products.
  3. Extensive knowledge of Azure, M365/O365, Active Directory, InTune & Autopilot.
  4. Proven experience in managing and maintaining large scale Microsoft systems.
  5. Proficiency in system security and data backup/recovery.
  6. Familiarity with various operating systems and databases.
  7. Strong knowledge of systems and network performance tuning, user management, and security.
  8. Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Must be a team player with strong customer service orientation.
  11. Microsoft Azure, M365/O365 certifications will be an added advantage.
