Position Overview

As a Senior Systems Engineering Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in guiding engineering teams through a comprehensive approach to requirements gathering, solution design, scheduling, and system evaluation within the National System of Geospatial-intelligence (NSG) and related federal entities. Your expertise will ensure the delivery of precise and timely GEOINT services.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:
  • Support the Government in orchestrating requirements engineering, solution design, scheduling, and system evaluation across NSG and associated agencies.
  • Engage in the planning and analysis of user requirements, ensuring alignment with system architectures and addressing existing system challenges.
  • Provide strategic advice on modifications to solution designs based on thorough analysis of requirements and emerging technologies.
  • Facilitate the translation of mission and customer needs into actionable systems and capability requirements.
  • Assist in the allocation of requirements to various systems architecture components and ongoing programs.
  • Participate in systems integration efforts, ensuring cohesive functionality across platforms.
  • Contribute to Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Course of Actions (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
  • Support strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design initiatives.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical field, or 18 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 18 years of experience in government or industry, specifically in areas such as DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, or system engineering of complex systems.
  • Extensive experience in systems engineering, with a focus on large-scale systems or cloud environments.
  • TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI clearance and pass a polygraph examination.
Preferred Skills:

Ideal candidates will also have:
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with Software Development Frameworks.
  • INCOSE Associate System Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification.
  • A background in geospatial intelligence.
  • Active participation in professional organizations such as ACSM, ASCE, ASPRS, OGC, SAREM, or USGIF.
  • Knowledge of photogrammetry, remote sensing, and geographic information systems.
  • Insight into the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises.

The typical salary range for this position is $146,000 - $234,000, reflecting the level of experience and other relevant factors.
