Lead Capital Partners is seeking to hire an Associate / Vice President of Business Development with 5-10 years of post-undergraduate experience to be an integral member of our growing team. As an important member of the LCP team, the Business Development position will play a key role in the investment process, including supporting the firm’s investment team in all business development and origination activities, managing the marketing activities of the organization and developing and expanding the firm’s relationships in the marketplace. The position will support the firm’s Partners in the day-to-day management of Lead Capital Partners and the business development activities of its portfolio companies. 

 

The ideal candidate will have business development or investment experience, preferably in investment banking, private equity, financial services or a related field, and possess the ability to source, organize and synthesize investment opportunities for the firm. The candidate should also be able to effectively communicate investment strengths, along with related risks as the first screen for potential acquisition targets.


This candidate must thrive in an entrepreneurial private equity culture with the ability to work in less structured environments with minimal oversight.

 

Position Responsibilities:

·       Implement and direct all aspects of originating investment opportunities, including relationship management, developing and maintaining business development reports and effectively communicating with investment team members

·       Manage and maintain Lead Capital’s online presence through its website, direct email marketing campaigns, corporate LinkedIn profile, press releases, transaction announcements and firm updates

·       Manage Lead Capital’s CRM database to effectively track relationships and deal pipeline

·       Work with the investment team to identify and qualify new investment banking / intermediary relationships and referral sources (i.e., bankers, accountants, attorneys, etc.) 

·       Participate in industry conferences, seminars and trade shows and actively manage firm strategy related to market presence

·       Proactively identify opportunities for business development improvements and effectively communicate those improvements to senior leadership to manage implementation

·       Understand the Lead Capital’s investment criteria and philosophy, including an ability to effectively communicate the firm’s rationale for its lower middle market healthcare focus

·       Develop and oversee an active outbound sourcing effort directed specifically towards business owners  

 

Qualifications:

·       5-10 years of relevant professional experience in investment banking, private equity, financial services and/or a related field

·       Undergraduate degree with a strong record of academic achievement

·       Proven understanding of private equity industry and ability to effectively communicate why and how Lead Capital sets itself apart

·       Positive attitude, energy and overall enthusiasm for business development

·       Team player with proven ability to work in a collaborative environment

·       Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

·       Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail

·       Self-starter with the ability to work in a lean operating environment

·       Strong integrity and professionalism
