The Regional Sales Manager will have responsibility for overseeing the sales team for their assigned region. This individual will be someone who can work in a fast-paced environment, is a self-starter with impeccable attention to detail, along with strong written and oral communication skills. This focused regional sales manager will hire, train, and supervise a team of sales representatives. The ideal person will demonstrate an exceptional ability to lead and coach a team in a professional manner. They will be responsible for growing new customer relationships as well as fostering existing relationships. They will drive the regional sales strategy for our client with their team of sales representatives. Their responsibilities will include all aspects of managing a sales team as defined below:


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position is directly responsible regional revenue growth, driving top line revenue by hiring proactive salespeople
  • Responsible for building, managing, and developing a high-performing sales team
  • Track and report sales activity and results from opportunities to revenue and post-sale client retention
  • Be a strategic thinker and develop strategic plans
  • Measure and manage KPIs, including:

Pipeline creation

Number of proposals

Close rate

Average deal size

  • Ensure the regional sales team adheres to the SOPs, including:

Entering leads in the CRM

Pricing deals within the approved discount levels

Confirm that the team is monitoring their individual territory forecast

  • Monitor and track results from sales, performance, forecast, and pipeline
  • Oversee the sales quota for the regional sales reps to meet or exceed regional sales quota
  • Coach and develop individual team members on an ongoing basis
  • Establish techniques to maximize productivity and efficiency for the regional sales team
  • Take part in business meetings or calls when negotiating larger sales opportunities, including presentations to key accounts or multi-location presence


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a sales team to consistently meet and exceed sales quotas
  • Have extensive experience closing new business
  • Extensive experience working in a CRM
  • Self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to travel within the region approximately 60 to 75% of the time
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Knowledge, Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills with a coaching and development mindset
  • Self-motivated, data-driven, and a proactive approach to managing a sales team
  • Ability to establish and maintain a professional relationship with customers/prospects
  • Professional phone, in-person, and written communication skills
  • Ability to present information in front of groups

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting in a car, on a plane, or at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
