We are looking for a dedicated Director of Business Development (DBD) to continue the company’s
growth and execute broader strategic objectives while supporting market-specific business development
objectives. The DBD will be responsible for managing the sales cycle from lead handoff to securing a
deal. This position reports to the Vice President of Business Development.
To be successful as a DBD, the candidate should have excellent sales and leadership skills, as well as
strong customer service skills. Successful candidates will also have a thorough knowledge and
understanding of Ascent AeroSystems’ products and how they match market requirements.
DBD Responsibilities:
Qualify leads gained through inbound and outbound lead-generation activities
Validate customer needs
Manage key accounts
Act as the point of contact for customers
Organize regular customer meetings to discuss their requirements
Hold live or virtual demonstrations with the end goal of closing deals
Prepare and present proposals
Address customer concerns
Help customers navigate the procurement process
Negotiate terms and conditions with customers
Collaborate with key decision-makers to identify opportunities and develop ideas that deliver
sales results
Attend trade shows and host customer events
Educational Qualifications/Skills:
BS degree in Business, Marketing or related field a plus, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience
in business development
UAS industry experience is a great plus.
Strong sales ability, business acumen, and commercial awareness
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Proven work experience as a Sales account executive
Hands on experience with customer service
An ability to gasp client needs and to increase customer engagement
Solid knowledge of CRM software and MS Office (MS Excel in particular)
Understanding of sales performance metrics
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Analytical and time-management skill
