Are you a hands-on electronics engineer with a knack for keeping cutting-edge technology up and running? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy troubleshooting complex semiconductor capital equipment? Then we want you on our team

KLA is seeking a talented engineer to join our CAPRES & MicroSense team. In this role, you'll be a go-to Factory Specialist to our customers, providing expert support for industry-leading metrology tools used in semiconductor manufacturing.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Become a technical guru: Deep dive into CAPRES & MicroSense tools like the Wafer Series and KerrMapper family, used for critical measurements and analysis of chip components.
  • Solve customer mysteries: Diagnose complex issues with these advanced tools, ensuring smooth operation in our customers' fabs (factories).
  • Be a team player: Collaborate with internal teams and customers to develop solutions and implement best known practices (BKM).

We're looking for someone with:

  • In-depth knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, particularly those involving thin film magnetics.
  • Strong understanding of metrology products like magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE), vibrating sample magnetometers (VSMs), and 4-point probe sheet resistance metrology would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical components of semiconductor equipment.
  • Experience with troubleshooting using a 7-step methodology.
  • Ability to analyze inspection reports, system logs, and diagnostic data to diagnose problems.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (30%).
  • Bachelors degree with 2+ years of experience in a technical role related to semiconductor equipment, engineering, or metrology.
  • Understanding of physics and magnetism
  • Experience troubleshooting complex technical problems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with semiconductor equipment, 4-point probe, Hall effect, MOKE, and VSM metrology.
  • Military background in electronics, aircraft repair, or nuclear propulsion.
