What you will be doing:

  • Validation of fuel system components and system
  • CAD modeling - Need to be able to model geometries in CAD, work on challenging packaging studies to come up with unique design solutions, create base drawings for components, write EJR's (Engineering Job Request) for releases.
  • Advancing Client hardware from D (Design), to L (Limited Production) and finally P (Production) Phase
  • Work and close FIRGs - Expect to be able to problem solve and work on FTA, DFMEA, tests to confirm root cause etc.
  • Responsible for supporting analysis (FEA, CFD, DBJ, DVA etc.) and interpreting results to draw conclusions.
  • Drawing Quality Review with Suppliers - Have good knowledge on GD&T. Basic design software knowledge is a plus.
  • Teardown Study on Responsible Hardware - Document the results including pictures and findings (some components might require supplier analysis - so need to carry these out and comprehend the results).
  • Review Engineering Standard Work
  • Solves problems and analyzes potential solutions using technical experience when creating and revising designs
  • Uses computer-based tools for project organization, planning, and new technology development.
  • Work and close FIRGs - Expect to be able to problem solve and work on FTA, DFMEA, tests to confirm root cause etc.
  • Responsible for supporting analysis (FEA, CFD, DBJ, DVA etc.) and interpreting results to draw conclusions.
  • Review engineering standard work
  • Attend & schedule weekly meetings for responsible components:
  • Lead and complete design reviews to achieve release of components.
  • Assist in engine builds and help troubleshoot issues while setting up test cells.
  • Maintain and define detailed BOMs and product structures.
  • Interface with suppliers for timely procurement of components

What you'll need to be successful:

Essential:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines. Mechanical Engineering degree HIGHLY preferred as well as 2 or more years of hands-on experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competence in computer-aided design (CAD), bill of material (BOM) development, engineering changes, engineering authorizations, standards of drafting, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, practical design, and the creation of detailed drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to make professional presentations to a both technical and non-technical personnel
  • User level Pro E (Creo) experience
  • Failure Incident Report Group (FIRG) process
  • Design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA)
  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT)
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Humble, teachable, and who solve their own problems
  • Effective and collaborative team player
  • Possess the ability to handle multiple internal and external suppliers AND customers
  • Good communicator - written and verbal
  • Great collaborator

Preferred:

  • Windchill experience is desired but not mandatory
  • CFD analysis is desired
