Role Description

  • This is a full-time on-site role for a Commercial Underwriter at Chicago Title in Raleigh, NC. The Commercial Underwriter will be responsible for preparing commercial title commitments, policies, revisions, closing protection letters, invoices, and endorsements based on title reports, abstracts and/or attorney opinions, as well as from documents in the public records, sales contracts and lender instructions.
  • Perform all core title that are needed to complete standard and complex commercial real estate transactions. These functions may also include search/examination, underwriting and escrow/settlement activities.
  • Perform and/or coordinate preliminary and updated title searches in accordance with industry practice and regulatory guidelines.
  • Review and interpret land surveys.
  • Recognize title defects and seek advice from a Senior Commercial Title Officer and/or Underwriting Counsel, when necessary.
  • Create proforma policies and proforma endorsements.
